For Viewers-students we recommend
Upstream/Download bandwidth: -at least- 2 to 6 Mbits/sec which is 2000-6000 Kbits/sec –bandwidth.
Upstream/Upload: -at least-1-2 Mbits/sec – which is 1000-2000 Kbits/sec –bandwidth.

For Teacher, we recommend as much upstream bandwidth as possible.
if the presenter (teacher) shares their desktop, or, share big files with students (such as background downloads, file sharing clients, etc) then high Upstream-Upload and download is needed to quickly connect to the server, therefore our initial recommendation is

Upstream/Download bandwidth: -at least- 6 to 15 Mbits/sec which is 6000-150000 Kbits/sec –bandwidth.
Upstream/Upload: -at least- 4 to 6 Mbits/sec – which is 4000-6000 Kbits/sec –bandwidth.

Please note, it depends on the activity of the student and teacher. If the viewer (student) is not broadcasting any webcam, the amount of upstream bandwidth used would be less than when use webcam. Distance between teacher, students and the sever is also important fact which affect speed and streaming.
If teachers/students would like to check their bandwidth we recommend visit speedtest.net.
